Poor American health habits cost American employers.
According to recent studies on health-care costs, the United States spends about 20 percent or one fifth of our gross domestic product on healthcare or as many call it: "disease care".
Why disease care? Because when you consider that most of the cost is for treating chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, liver, and kidney disease--that is what is it! This cost, now over 2 trillion dollars annually is expected to grow through the end of the decade.
But this can all be prevented! Why? Because chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are almost entirely caused by poor lifestyle habits that are modifiable.
