A Note on Choosing Recipe Ingredients:
I encourage you to gather the healthiest and most sustainable ingredients you can find or afford. Emphasize plant foods, local and regionally grown foods, and organic foods.
Farmers markets are the most sustainable choice in season, however many of the recipe ingredients can be found in your local grocery store.
When shopping at the grocery store be sure to look for the country of origin (COOL) label to identify foods grown in the USA; the USDA organic label to identify organic foods; and the fair trade label.
