Medical Insurance: To determine if you are eligible for insurance reimbursement, you need to call your insurance company. Insurance companies vary, some cover the cost of nutrition counseling, however many do not. Your first step is to call your insurance company and ask if they pay for “medical nutrition therapy” for your particular situation. A letter from your doctor referring you to a dietitian, with your stated diagnosis, may help obtain coverage. If you determine that you are eligible for reimbursement we can help provide paperwork you need to submit a claim, but you will be responsible for paying Sustainable Diets directly.
